Baseball Fans Rescue Puppy Stuck In Hot Car Outside Stadium

A little puppy is lucky to be alive after baseball fans freed him from a hot car at a game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Michael and Josh Warner were so hot inside the stadium that they left the game to cool off. That’s when they heard a puppy crying.

Noticing the puppy inside the car had no water and the temperatures were soaring they notified the stadium’s guest services and managed to pry open the window. Michael pulled out the 3-month-old Pit Bull puppy who was overjoyed to be out of the hot car and licked everyone around him. Michael said he had never seen an animal so happy to see someone.

The puppy was kept at guest services until after the game. A Royals staff member waited by the out-of-state car in the hopes of talking with the owner, but after four innings, the owner never showed up so they left a note on the car and never heard back. Another employee took the puppy home for the night and in the morning he was brought to the KC Pet Project shelter.

An investigation was launched and it appears that the previous owners have received citations for animal cruelty.

KC Pet Project updated everyone as to the Royals puppy on June 20, 2016 writing:

“Regarding the Royals puppy found in the car on Sunday night: the pup is finishing up a city required stray hold and living in a foster home until he is available for adoption. The puppy’s overnight caretaker from the game has placed Early Bird hold on him. We have spoken with the rescuer of the puppy many times, and he informed us that he is happy that the puppy is going to a good home where he will be loved. We also discovered that the rescuer lives in a town with Breed Specific Legislation: the puppy is unable to live in this community. We have made arrangements for the rescuer to visit the puppy before he leaves for his new home and will be sure to give his information to new adopter. Please know that we have done all we can to make sure that the puppy will be going to a home where he is loved and spoiled and have worked with all parties involved to the best of our ability.”

I’m so glad the puppy was rescued in time and now will have a family who will look after and protect him!

Share this puppy’s happy ending with your family and friends!
