Rescue Dog Was Almost Euthanized. Now He Won’t Let His New Mom Out of Sight

Tina was in her third year of study in South Africa when she decided she wanted a dog, but her parents were completely against it. Hoping to change their minds, she thought maybe getting a rescue dog might convince them.

After researching all of the local shelters and checking their dog listings she found a dog she wanted to meet—Miki. So she brought them along to the local shelter, and when she met Miki, she instantly knew he was the one. But her parents weren’t so sure. It wasn’t until the shelter manager explained why they were so eager for Miki to be adopted that everything changed: Miki had been there too long and only had a week left. That was all it took.

Watch Miki’s adorable rescue story in the video below.

From the moment Tina brought him home, Miki has been her shadow. It’s as if he knew right away she was his person.

Now, Miki follows her everywhere with a smile on his face. Even when she steps outside just to take out the garbage, he waits as close as he can, not wanting to let her out of his sight.
