Woman Who Took Boyfriend Back Alleges He Purposely Crashed Car With Her In It Into Semi-Truck

A Canadian woman says she regrets giving her boyfriend a second chance after she was allegedly attacked and forced into a car that slammed into a parked semi-trailer on New Year’s Day.

Twenty-two year old Shaylene Wilson says taking her boyfriend back turned out to be a harsh lesson, one that she says almost cost her her life.

Shaylene says she and her boyfriend were celebrating at a nightclub on New Year’s Eve and got into an argument. When they were out in the parking lot, he allegedly forced her into her car. She says that he then purposely slammed the vehicle into a parked semi-trailer.

Winnipeg Police allege that the man “intentionally guided the passenger side of the vehicle,” where Shaylene was sitting, so that it would collide with a parked semi.

Fortunately, Shaylene had buckled her seatbelt just a few minutes before the crash, something she says she did out of “intuition”. Rescuers had to extricate her from the crushed car using the Jaws of Life. Miraculously, she survived with just some bruises, scratches and whiplash.

A few days later, Shaylene is sharing her story in the hopes of helping other women who might be in abusive relationships. “I can’t believe I walked away from that,” Shaylene told CBC News. “I thought I was going to die.”

She says she met the man on an online dating site and it began very positively. They both have children, he got her caring about her fitness and health and she thought he was a Prince Charming. But she alleges that he later began acting possessive and jealous.

Last fall, she said he struck her, causing a black eye. She said did not press charges against the man after he apologized. Soon after, she alleges she was assaulted two more times. Those times she pressed charges against him and says that one of the bail conditions against him barred him from having any contact with her. But Shaylene reconciled with him a few weeks later.

Now recovering from the crash, Shaylene wants to encourage others not to stay in abusive relationships.

“Hearts cloud the mind,” she said, but the warning signs are always there. She told The Globe and Mail, “We can’t keep waiting for it to get worse before you leave – because it doesn’t get better.”

The boyfriend has since been charged with attempted murder, kidnapping and numerous other offences in connection with the incident.

Please share Shaylene’s story with your friends!
