Wild Dogs and Hyenas Share A Rare Peaceful Moment And It’s Beautiful
Nature always finds ways to surprises us. WildEarth experienced such a surprise recently when they spotted an unusual interaction between some wild dogs and hyenas in a game park in South Africa.
“We were glued to our seats as we watched an unusual and friendly interaction between wild dogs and hyenas on Chitwa Chitwa,” wrote WildEarth.
Instead of attacking or running away from each other, the two animal species greeted each other and played together. At one point two touched noses.
The man watching the interaction noted that things may have been different in this encounter if food was involved, where the animals may have reverted to survivor mode. But in this encounter the animals are relaxed and curious.

One viewer commented, “Given how intelligent both hyenas and wild dogs are, it wouldn’t surprise me if they all came to the mutual conclusion of ‘Okay there’s no food to fight over, no pups to protect, and therefore no reason to waste energy and risk injury. I’m chill if you are.'”
Moments like these remind us just how unpredictable and fascinating nature can be.
