Video Captures Golden Retriever’s Priceless Reaction to Favorite Takeout
A Golden Retriever named Bailey Grace not only loves to carry takeout food bags, but when there’s food inside the bag that she likes, she chatters. Instead of wagging her tail in excitement like many dogs do, Bailey chatters her teeth when she’s overcome with excitement—and it’s adorable to watch.

The dog, who lives in Tampa, Florida, has become a bit of an internet celebrity thanks to videos showcasing her charming trait.
Her dad, known on TikTok as @baileycarriesthings, recently shared a viral video of Bailey patiently waiting to be let into their apartment while clutching a delivery bag. He captioned the clip: “Usually it’s chicken… but tonight the meatballs had Bailey chattering.” Recognizing the internet’s obsession with her quirky habit, he noted, “The internet loves when Bailey chatters, so I guess we will keep giving the people what they want.”

This behavior is a mix of nature and personality. Golden Retrievers were originally bred to have a “soft mouth” (or soft bite), allowing them to retrieve game without damaging it. Bailey’s ability to carry items gently is a well known breed trait. Less common is the “chattering” (sometimes called “tattering”) behavior, though Golden Retrievers are known to do it. It typically occurs when they are eagerly awaiting treats or food, or when they see a loved one. It’s believed to be a way of releasing built-up excitement.
Despite her excitement, Bailey maintains impeccable manners. She never tries to steal the food; instead, she waits patiently for her dad to serve her. When she isn’t “working” as a delivery girl, she’s finding other treasures to carry. Her most recent prize? A hubcap she found on the street, which her dad says she now prefers over any of her traditional toys or sticks.
