Vandalized Liquor Store Discovers Drunk Raccoon Passed Out on Bathroom Floor

A store clerk at an ABC Store in Virginia opening up for the busy Black Friday discovered a break-in had occurred. But not just any kind of break in. A vandal smashed liquor bottles in the shop, appears to have gotten drunk and then passed out in the bathroom. But it was the culprit that shocked the clerk the most.

Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter

That culprit? A masked bandit in the form of a raccoon! Early Saturday morning, Officer Martin with Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter was called to the scene. When she arrived she saw the whiskey and scotch bottles broken on the floor and a trail of mess leading to the toilet where the raccoon lay passed out on the floor.

The shop staff believe the raccoon snuck in looking for food but went on a full-on boozy bender. They had never seen anything like it and neither had Officer Martin.

The store also released footage of the raccoon in the store trying to climb up boxes after sampling the eggnog, whiskey, and scotch.

The raccoon’s health appears to have not been affected by the alcohol although he probably was nursing a wicked hangover when he woke up.

The miscreant raccoon went to an animal shelter to sober up and was released back into the wild the next day.

“He was safely released back to the wild, hopefully having learned that breaking and entering is not the answer,” the shelter wrote. “Just another day in the life at Hanover Animal Protection!”

But that’s not the end of the story. It turns out that the raccoon may be a repeat breaking and entering offender. It’s being reported that the same raccoon has previously broken into a karate studio and a DMV.

No word into what this trash panda might get up to next.
