We like to think that empathy and fairness are moral traits unique to humans. But Frans de Waal shares some surprising videos of behavioral tests, on primates and other mammals, that show how many of these moral traits are ones that all of us share.
Here’s an amazing excerpt of what happened when two monkeys are paid unequally. One monkey is given cucumber as a reward. The other one gets a grape. When the one monkey realizes he’s not been treated fairly, his reaction is something everyone can identify with!
