Rescue Donkey Insists That Visitors Say ‘Hi’
When Angie and the folks at Solstice Sanctuary rescued Irvin, a baby donkey, from an auction, they thought they were bringing home a calm, quiet, shy animal. But they couldn’t have been more mistaken!
Irvin wasn’t calm, he was malnourished and too weak to use his voice because he had been neglected. But after two weeks, he let out his first bray. That’s when his true personality started to shine. According to Angie, he turned out to be a very sassy, very opinionated (and a little bit naughty) donkey.

One of his quirks? If someone visits the farm and doesn’t say hello to him, he gets noticeably upset — and loudly vocal about it. He’s a lovable little character who definitely knows what he wants.
Now, Irvin’s days are filled with brays, attitude, and all the love he missed out on and he makes sure everyone knows it.
He started off as number 999 at an auction to a donkey with attitude if he doesn’t get the attention he wants.
