Adorable Puppy With Cleft Palate Ready To Find Her Forever Family
Meet Moo-Lissa, a tiny dog with a big spirit. Moo-Lissa was born at a shelter and with a cleft lip and palate. Because of her cleft palate she couldn’t nurse from her mom. Thankfully, the pup and her mother were pulled from the shelter by two rescues and Moo went to The Bottle Brigade, a rescue that focuses on at-risk and special needs neonates.

Once Moo grew and weaned to solid foods, The Bottle Brigade posted that they were looking for a rescue partner to take over care and help find Moo-Lissa a home. That’s when Caitie’s Foster Family stepped in.
Initially, Caitie’s Foster Family was concerned when Moo began spinning a lot, indicating there may be neurological issues. “Because she was spinning when excited, we took Moo to a neurologist to make sure we weren’t missing anything, Caitie’s Foster Family wrote on Instagram. “The good news is she was all cleared! They said she’s doing great and aren’t concerned about Hydrocephalus.”

Moo’s cleft lip also doesn’t pose any special challenges. “Despite the large cleft lip, she eats well and is not having any issues. At this point, it is mostly cosmetic but will need to be assessed as she grows,” the rescue wrote. her. They added, “It needs a little cleaning after meals, but overall it just gives her that special appearance! When she is grown, she might need a few teeth pulled as the adult ones come in.”
Moo also has one eye that’s smaller than the other, that unfortunately will be removed but the surgery will be covered by the rescue.

One thing is for sure, this little pup has come a long way and deserves a happy home filled with love. Caitie’s Foster Family revealed, “she loves to play with toys, loves to cuddle, and has been around other dogs and cats” an d that she’s “The sweetest, tiniest, spunkiest girl.”

Caitie’s Foster Family shared, “Moo is a beautiful girl who is so deserving of a home. We are located in Houston, TX, and out of state apps are considered on a case by case basis.
