Neighbor Mistakes Parrot for Trouble, Police Show Up to a Comical Surprise

Rambo the parrot was just “parroting” words he learned decades ago — but his antics ended up bringing the police to his family’s home. Jason was working outside while his wife, Gia, was inside when officers suddenly showed up at their door.

Rambo the parrot knows how to get everyone’s attention — including the police! Florida resident Jason was working outside while his wife, Gia, was inside their home when officers suddenly appeared at their door.

“I was changing the brakes on my wife’s car and had my 40-year-old parrot, Rambo, on his outside perch where he sings and talks,” Jason recounted in a video of the surveillance footage of the funny incident. “Sometime later four police officers showed up saying a neighbor called because she heard a woman screaming for help.”

The neighbor had heard Rambo shouting “Help me!” and thought someone was in trouble. But Jason instantly realized what had happened.

“Sometimes Rambo yells ‘help, help, let me out’. Something I taught him when I was a kid and Rambo lived in a cage,” Jason explained. Decades ago, he and his siblings had taught Rambo those words — and now they were causing confusion.

Jason introduced Rambo to the officers, and everyone shared a good laugh. “I promptly introduced the officers to Rambo and we all had a good laugh. Afterwards, I also introduced Rambo to the neighbor who called in the screaming. She too had a good laugh.”

Who knew a parrot’s decades-old vocabulary could lead to such an unforgettable moment?
