A pet owner brought their sick Chihuahua to a vet with an infected uterus that was life-threatening. The veterinarian performed surgery on Mia even though they were not sure Mia’s owner would ever pay.
When the vet told Mia’s owner that they recommended she get a blood transfusion, Mia’s owner refused and later showed up for a visit only to end up stealing the dog back. The vet contacted San Jose Animal Services and asked them to check up on Mia. What they discovered, prompted them to act!
