Gym Mascot Cat Rescues Feline Friend From Vicious Dog On Brazilian Street

Taurinho, a cat living at a gym in Brazil, sprang into action when his feline friend was attacked by a dog. The heroic moment was caught on security cameras outside Taurus Academia, a gym in São Paulo.

Inside the gym, Taurinho noticed Dochinho being snatched by a Boxer dog on the street. Without hesitation, Taurinho pushed open the gym’s glass door and launched himself at the dog, who was shaking Dochinho in his mouth.

Taurinho leapt into the air and struck the dog’s head, startling him into dropping Dochinho. The brave cat then stood guard over his friend. When the dog tried to approach again, Taurinho lunged with claws extended and chased the dog away.

Taurinho’s mom, Jessika Shimkai, shared a photo of the heroic cat who quickly became a media darling after his brave rescue went viral.

She expressed gratitude for the outpouring of kind words and support from people touched by Taurinho’s actions. In a heartfelt message (translated), she wrote, “I ask with all my heart for those who love animals, like me, to help. If each one of us does a little bit, we can improve their lives, which are often invisible.”

As for Dochinho, reports say she was taken to a veterinarian for a checkup. In one video, Taurinho can be seen showing concern as Dochinho is carried away in a pet carrier.
