Golden Retriever Ignores Mom’s Instructions and Turns Flooded Backyard Into His Personal Pool
Heavy rains across parts of Queensland Australia have been causing flooding — and in some places, turning backyards into giant puddles. While most people are stressing (including his mom, Pam Tickle, dealing with a leak in the house), Eddie the Golden Retriever saw something very different…Opportunity.
After nearly 85 mm (3.5 inches) of rain in just over 24 hours, followed by even more the following days for a total of 300 mm (over 11 inches), Pam let Eddie outside for a quick bathroom break while she handled the water coming through the ceiling.
“Eddie just do a wee and come back,” she called.
Eddie had other plans.
Instead of heading back, he marched straight into the biggest puddle in the yard… and plopped himself right down in the middle of it like he’d just discovered his own personal swimming pool.

Pam’s drawn-out “nooooo!” came just a second too late — the damage (and the mud) was already done.
Now affectionately dubbed the “viral puddle dog,” Eddie made it very clear: sometimes, dogs don’t hear instructions, they hear adventure.
