Not every rock band can have the instrumentals stripped out of a song and still have it be awesome. But the crew at Playback.fm did just that to Queen’s “We Are The Champions”. “We’ve edited 4 concert films including a rare recording session of “We Are The Champions” and synced them all up to the isolated vocals in honor of the late, great, Freddie Mercury.”
The resulting a capella (vocals only) mash-up is pretty astounding and shows just what a powerful voice Mercury had. “This video showcases his presence and consistency as the ultimate stage man,” Plaback.fm writes. “RIP Freddie. You are a rock god.”
