Scared Foster Husky Blossoms Into Snuggly Lovebug During Adorable Bath Time Routine
A young husky named Nanook was set to be euthanized after being dumped at a shelter by his family. Terrified and shut down, his future looked bleak. However, after two months in foster care with the Goodlin family, he is a dog transformed.
The Goodlin family — known as The Good Hype on TikTok — are four siblings whose household includes twelve large dogs and a handful of foster pups. To say they pamper their fosters, while also providing training and endless love, would be an understatement.
Nanook was rescued from the South LA shelter by Underdog Heroes. The one-year-old pup was initially a bit “growly” and “stand-offish,” but his rescuers quickly saw that he “was just very neglected” and “covered in dried pee, poop and his fur is terribly matted.” They noted, “He will be groomed, but that’s something that needs to be done once he has decompressed, gotten comfortable and had some time to build trust.”
Well, here’s Nanook after two months with the Goodlin family — getting what we would call a deluxe paw day package! Take a look at the video below:
Do you think Nanook enjoyed it? The Goodlins wrote, “Despite everything he has been through at such a young age, Nanook is the most affectionate, snuggly, and happy boy.”
Underdog Heroes celebrated Nanook’s progress, sharing, “We are so excited for him. They are so good with helping dogs like him come out of their shell and adapt to all the best things in life.”
Far from the stereotype of a “stubborn husky,” Nanook simply wants to please. The foster family said his “favorite activity is snuggling with his hoomans.”
Viewers could hardly believe it. One person wrote, “The floofball is the most well behaved Husky I’ve ever seen.”
The Goodlins recently sprinkled their magical touch on another husky named Glacier, who was also at risk of being put down. “Despite his wolf-like appearance, he’s calm, low-energy, and incredibly affectionate—snuggling is his absolute favorite activity,” @thegoodhype wrote.
Both huskies are adorable and impressively well-behaved during their bath time! From our review of adoptable dogs at Underdog Heroes, it appears that both Glacier and Nanook have found their forever homes — and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
If there’s one takeaway from their story, it’s this – there are so many wonderful, loving young dogs at shelters who just need a second chance to show what good boys (and girls) they are!
