Dog’s Gender Reveal Job Goes Hilariously Sideways
You can count on a Labrador Retriever to bring excitement and laughter to any party. That’s exactly what Indy the Yellow Lab did when he took part in his family’s gender reveal celebration. He was given a very special — and central — role of carrying the big surprise, but things didn’t quite go as planned.
The moment was captured on video and shared on Instagram with the caption written from Indy’s point of view: “So maybe I was a little too excited to tell mom and dad they were having a boy…”
Mom and dad saw the “disaster” coming as 4-year-old Indy raced across the lawn with blue balloons trailing behind him — and ran straight into a little boy who happened to be in the way.
Many viewers assumed the boy was the soon-to-be big brother, with several joking that Indy was “making room for the new one.”
“New one is coming. Don’t need this one anymore,” quipped commenter @julzy_bean.
Another viewer added, “Announcing the second by taking out the first,” followed by a laughing emoji.
“He saw it coming and just accepted his fate,” one person noted about the boy’s expression.
Despite the surprise collision, others declared the gender reveal a huge success. User @grow.girl.grow wrote, “The best gender reveal of all time.” Another chimed in, “This is a cinematic masterpiece.”
A viewer named Annie confessed, “I have watched this 700 times, and I think it gets funnier every time.”
We’re guessing the boy’s family wouldn’t have shared the video if he’d been hurt. No doubt, when he’s older, he’ll laugh right along with the rest of us about his unfortunate timing — and how wild Labradors can be. One thing’s for sure: based on Indy’s energy, he’s more than ready to welcome the baby. He’s already creating unforgettable memories — and his baby brother isn’t even here yet!
