Dog Hilariously Asks For ‘Butt Pats’ All Day Long
Some dogs fetch balls. Some chase squirrels. And then there’s Ladybird, a dog with a delightfully unusual demand: butt pats—lots of them.
Christina Stamper’s beloved pup has an endearing quirk that has captured the hearts of millions online. Whenever Ladybird wants attention, she plants herself directly in front of whoever is nearby, scoots into a crouched position, lifts her rear into the air, and turns her head to keep careful eye contact—just to make sure you don’t try to walk away without paying the “toll.”
Christina regularly shares TikTok videos of Ladybird politely requesting her favorite form of affection, and the clips often rack up millions of views.
Naturally, viewers are curious about how this unusual habit began. According to Christina, Ladybird has always loved getting her backside patted.
“She’s always done this,” Christina explained. “She’ll literally follow you like this just to get her butt pats.”
But the dramatic “butt-up” pose apparently intensified after Ladybird met Christina’s partner.
“She’s in love with him, I swear,” Christina joked. “About stole him from me.”

Fans have also noticed another funny detail in the videos: Ladybird maintains intense eye contact while receiving her beloved pats. According to Christina, there’s a strategic reason for that.
“It’s so she knows where to move if you try to avoid paying the toll,” she said.
The internet, of course, had plenty of questions.
One viewer wondered, “How long does it take you to get from one room to the other?”
Another joked, “How are you gonna explain that to the dog sitter? So cute.”
Christina had a simple solution:
“Okay directions simple—just pat the booty every step you take lol”
Some viewers also noticed that Ladybird often receives one-handed pats in the videos. Christina assured them that the pup gets “double pats” when the camera isn’t rolling. And as for how often Ladybird asks?
“It’s an all-day thing,” Christina said.
In fact, Ladybird’s persistent requests have even threatened to derail Christina’s schedule. At one point, the determined pup nearly made her late for an OB appointment—though Christina ultimately made it on time.
At the time, Christina explained that Ladybird’s requests were nearly constant.
“About a hundred times a day lmao she asks for so much!! Plus I’m 9 months pregnant and it’s a struggle but I can’t help myself—she’s too cute.”
Since then, the baby has arrived, and Ladybird has embraced her new role in the family. While she still insists on her daily supply of butt pats, she also enjoys giving attention to her newest human sibling—and Christina says the dog clearly adores the baby.

Unsurprisingly, viewers can’t get enough of Ladybird and her hilarious personality.

Christina seems to agree. “We’re still unsure if she is a dog,” she joked. “I’m thinking a seal mixed with a cat. But yes, there is definitely something off about her—and I love it.”
And if Ladybird has anything to say about it, there will always be one rule in this household: pay the butt-pat toll before passing through.
