A lovable mini-Dachshund named Wilbur has the sweetest morning ritual with his human baby sister. Every morning, Wilbur picks out one of his favorite toys and brings it to her as a “gift.” He will enter her bedroom and go straight over to her bassinet and waits patiently underneath as his mom gets the baby ready for the day and so he can give her a good morning kiss.

No matter which toy he chooses, Wilbur’s excitement is clear—he just can’t wait to greet his little sister each day with a happy wagging tail. Now that she’s 9 months old, Wilbur hasn’t slowed down. He still brings her toys faithfully, keeping their sweet routine going strong.

Their mom shared that both of her dogs were incredibly attentive during her pregnancy—especially Wilbur, who seemed to be waiting for the baby to arrive. And when she did, it was like they already knew each other. As mom puts it, they were “built-in best friends.”
