Border Collie’s Hilarious ‘Stare Down’ At The Vet Has Dog Lovers in Stitches
A Border Collie has dog lovers laughing over a video of him having an intense “stare down” in the veterinarian’s office.
The adorable blue-eyed dog is looking up toward the ceiling in the room—his eyes intently focused on something out of frame. He has one paw lifted off the floor but is frozen in position. When the camera pans to above the door frame, viewers finally see what he’s been staring at. Watch the video below:
What’s caught the dog’s attention? A paper cutout of a black cat perched above the door. Kelsie, who posts to TikTok under the username @kelsieg23, wrote, “The border collie stare is strong with this one,” noting the breed’s skill in herding and attention to their surroundings.
Border Collies are known for their focus and “sheepdog stare,” a hallmark of their herding abilities.
The funny video has gotten over 4 million views, with many viewers laughing at the musical pairing that Kelsie picked for the clip; she added music from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake.
Other viewers noted that the paper cat doesn’t stand a chance. “The craziest part is that paper cat will blink first,” one commenter joked. Another viewer added that the dog wouldn’t fold: “Not him using his eye lasers, pointing leg, and whole body making sure you see it too.”
Several viewers imagined what was racing through the Border Collie’s mind. “Why can’t I smell him?” wrote one, while another joked, “They’re IN the walls mom.”
“My goodness we is stressed,” observed another viewer. Another commenter agreed writing: “The tension is outrageous, gotta love herding breeds.”
Another said the dog was preparing to herd by “doing mental calculations on the angle of the ladder he will build and then climb.”
In a later video posted to her account, Kelsie proved her pup isn’t affected just by artwork of cats, but the real thing, too. She wrote, “Since y’all liked the first video so much… the stare is strong from the real cats at home too…”
She also shared a cute video of her dog concentrating during a baseball game, captioning the video, “Dogs like baseball too.”
