How To Make A Non Stick Surface On Your BBQ Grill Using A Potato

Barbeque season kicks off for many people in the spring and summer months with it comes delicious grilled foods and, unfortunately, dirty charred grates. That’s where this handy trick for making your grate non-stick comes in. The video below shows how to make your bbq non-stick without using unhealthy or messy oil sprays. All you’ll need a raw potato and fork.

Cut the potato in half and stab it with the fork so that the white fleshy part is facing out. Then rub the open side of the potato back and forth on the hot grate. Repeat this several times until the potato juices cover the grate. And that’s it! The starch from the potato creates a non-stick barrier that will help keep certain foods (like meats and fish) from sticking to the surface.

What a great tip! I’ll be sharing this great tip with my friends and family for sure.
