Angry Squirrel Terrorizes Neighborhood and Goes Viral
A Northern California community has an unusual stalker terrorizing neighbors — an aggressive squirrel. More than five people have been attacked, and several have ended up in the ER. Victims have appeared on various news outlets to recount encounters with the small but terrifying animal.
One man named Joe had the large squirrel jump on his head and bite his ear after he noticed the squirrel gnawing the fence. The squirrel returned later to gnaw on a mop.
Another victim, Isabelle, noticed the squirrel following her and her niece. It went from cute to vicious in seconds when it leapt at her face. She recalled thinking the squirrel was “beautiful… until she almost killed me!”

The squirrel has also bitten and scratched people’s arms and legs. Thankfully, squirrels are not vectors for Rabies.

The vicious squirrel has prompted neighbors to post signs warning of the dangers and told to wear pants and watch their kids.
Animal experts suspect the female squirrel became habituated to humans and was likely fed when she was young. Unable to forage for herself in the wild, she may be getting frustrated when people don’t offer her food—a stark reminder not to feed wildlife.
In the meantime, one tiny squirrel has an entire neighborhood on high alert. Hopes are that a wildlife group will catch the squirrel.
