After buying his cat a pound of organic catnip, this pet owner posted his cat’s hilarious reaction to the herb online.
The Imgur picture is captioned, “Bought my cat a pound of catnip….. Good kitty.”
The cat’s wide-eyed, spaced out stare as he lounges in a bucket of the herb has gone viral.
Fortunately, large amounts of catnip is safe for cats. “Catnip is completely nontoxic to cats,” writes Janet Tobiassen Crosby, a doctor of veterinary medicine. “If a large quantity of fresh catnip is consumed, you may see some vomiting or diarrhea, but this is rare and self-limiting.”
Still, as with all things, everything in moderation! As cat owners will tell you, some cats don’t react to catnip at all, whereas others will drool, get very hyper and run around, or act like they’re sedated. In the case of this cat, he clearly is “spacing out”!
