Taylor Lumpkin had an unusual morning recently. She was “being a good mother” and letting her dog, Gracie, out to go to the bathroom at 6am before work. As she was heading out the door of her apartment she noticed a man trying to get in but his key fob wasn’t working. That’s when things took a strange turn.
The man turned out to be a police officer and showed Lumpkin her badge. He asked her if she could let him in on the other side of the building, which she agreed to do. When she opened the door, the officer asked if she could keep it open for a minute while he went to get something.
That something turned out to be “15-20 armed police officers…dressed in tactical gear.” Lumpkin shared the episode in a series of TikTok videos which have since gone viral.

Once the team of ATF officers was in the building, Lumpkin said, “The head honcho of the group, who I originally met in the beginning, finally comes back and then he’s like, ‘Alright, let’s go’. And they all looked to me to lead them.”
She then explained, “I don’t know why my dumba** decided to go… I took charge.”

So, Lumpkin and Gracie led the ATF officers upstairs. Lumpkin said that Gracie was very excited and “just wanted to play the whole time.” One viewer noted that Lumpkin was now a “police raid chaperone.”
Once out front of the apartment of the person they were looking for, Lumpkin could leave, but she wasn’t even off the floor before the officers began banging on their suspect’s door.

It turns out the officers were looking for someone staying with a tenant in the building. Lumpkin revealed in another video that the suspect was not in the building during the time of the raid.
