A man managed to photobomb his girlfriend for an entire month by taking engagement ring pictures without her noticing it. And he says he couldn’t have done it if he wasn’t a spontaneous guy.
Edi Okoro in the UK said he came up with the idea after his girlfriend Cally Read nearly caught him holding the ring.
“After a month or so of waiting for the right moment, I was sitting on the sofa admiring ‘my precious’ (yes I became very attached to this ring by this point) Cally almost caught me staring at the ring, and it hit me!….All these missed opportunities mixed in with the thought – Cally doesn’t know I have the ring!! I should just start documenting these moments!” he said on Facebook.
He was happy with the idea because he wanted “to propose in a way that speaks to you as a person and couple.” He joked, “Some plan a flash mob, a fancy meal, or even arrange a marry me sign. I couldn’t do this because “Edi doesn’t plan” …. I’m a spontaneous improviser!”
So he began to snap photos at opportune times.
He said, “This escalated quickly into trying to get as many photos of Cally with the ring without her knowing!…. yes she had no idea what I was doing in these photos!!!”
His idea was to take as many photos as he could in more daring scenarios until “I found the perfect moment to propose, or until I got caught, at which point I would propose!”
“Left it in her jewellery plate for two days… she didn’t see it.”
He didn’t get caught but he did find the right moment and proposed.
“So we did end up getting engaged, and no I didn’t get caught,” he said. “We took this photo not long after she said YES.”
And they got married!
Okoro later revealed that Cally didn’t find out about his sneaky “library of photos” until weeks later. We’d say his “no plan” plan worked out really well!
