Jerry Seinfeld Refuses A Hug From Kesha In Awkward Red Carpet Moment

You could say it was a very ‘Seinfeld’ moment on the red carpet when Jerry Seinfeld refused the hug of pop singer Kesha at the National Night of Laughter and Song event at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

The comedian was being interviewed by a reporter when the singer-songwriter enthusiastically introduced herself.

“I’m Kesha, I love you so much!” she says in a video captured by 94.7 Fresh FM radio host Tommy McFly. “Can I give you a hug?”

Seinfeld’s response. “No thanks.”

“Please? A little one?” Kesha asked again.

“Yeah, no thanks.”

It seems that Seinfeld is not a hugger. Befuddled by the attention, Seinfeld admitted to McFly, “I don’t know who that was.” After McFly let him know who the mysterious would-be hugger was Seifeld said, “Okay, well, I wish her the best.”

You can watch the awkward-yet-funny moment below.

Any fan of Seinfeld the TV show probably would guess the comedian is a non-hugger. After the video went viral, one astute commenter put up this gif reminder.
