he Hollywood entertainer recently surprised patrons at a Denny’s in Santa Monica, California when he sang Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Van Dyke starred in the comedy musical movie of the same name back in 1968.
His a cappella quartet Dick Van Dyke and The Vantastix sang the classic to onlooking restaurant goers. One patron posted a video which is quickly racking up praise. One commenter wrote “How much fun! You’re always spreading cheer.” Another said, “You are a wonderful entertainer and I want to thank you for giving all of us music to enjoy these many years.”
Upon sharing the video to his own Facebook page, Dick Van Dyke wrote, “Breakfast at Denny’s, with a side of grits makes me want to sing!!”
