Mom Being Taken Off Life Support Says Husband’s Final Words Saved Her

Imagine making the painful decision to take your unresponsive loved one off of life support…and then they miraculously revive!

Lyndee Pellettiere-Swapp was found unconscious by her son and rushed to hospital. For the next 12 days, she was unresponsive and was in a coma (although not diagnosed as brain dead). Her doctors told her family there was nothing to be done and advised them to take her off life support. As painful as it was, the family agreed to honor her wish of being an organ donor.

Although Lyndee wasn’t “awake”, she could hear everything her family and doctors were saying. She could hear her family talking to her and saying their “goodbyes”. She even recalls doctors preparing her family for her death! It wasn’t until her husband whispered to her “I need you to fight” that Lyndee fought to speak, and fought hard.

The first words that burst from her lips were “I’m a fighter”. Her family was stunned and overjoyed at the same time! Now that she’s recovered, Lyndee is telling her story so that others who might end up in a similar circumstance, know they should talk to their loved ones, as you never know.

“Just because you are not conscious does not mean you cannot hear,” she told CBS 5 Arizona. “So you should talk to your loved ones if you are in that situation. They hear you.”

What a miraculous story! Be sure to share it with your family and friends!
