Man Strips Down And Jumps Into Raging River To Save Drowning Dog

Watching a stranger become a hero right in front of your eyes is an experience you will never forget. For Sara Melnicoff, Bobby L’Heureux became her hero when he saved her senior dog from being swept away in a river.

Sara was so grateful to her Good Samaritan that she shared how he saved the day on Facebook, and what she wrote is now going viral. She said:

“My dear dog Carli was swept away by the raging waters of Mill Creek this morning in the Powerdam area. I saw her rush by, unable to do more than keep her head above water. I was running along the creek, calling her name, when I got to the area that overlooks the Tea Cup.

“I was going to take my shoes off and go in the water to try to get her, when this young man appeared out of nowhere and stripped down to his boxers. He plunged into the water, making his way along the slippery rocks, while the powerful currents of the water rushed all around him.”

“He managed to get a hold of Carli down stream some distance. She was shaking like a leaf and didn’t have much energy left. She has arthritis in her back legs, is 13 and mostly senile. (Like me!).”

“I was very shaken and teary when he brought Carli to me. I asked him his name and gave him a huge hug,” she wrote.

At the end of the day Bobby’s bravery resulted in Sara paying it forward. She wrote, “I asked him what his favorite charity was so I could donate in his name and he told me he runs a non-profit! Big Heart, Big Hands. Check them out. I can’t thank him enough for saving my girl for me. Thank you Bobby!”

I’m glad Bobby’s good deed is being recognized! Share Sara’s story with your family and friends!
