Young Singer Pours Her Talents Into Amazing Cover Of Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’

It’s been many years since Dolly Parton first released her hit song “Jolene”, but the tune continues to hold a special place in people’s hearts. It’s also a favorite song among musicians and many singers have covered the song since Dolly first sang it back in 1973.

One of the latest entries is from the young and talented Alexandra Kay. Alexandra loves bluegrass and country music and you can tell she loves the song.

According to Dolly, “Jolene” was inspired by a red-headed bank clerk who flirted with her husband Carl Dean at his local bank around the time they were newly married. In an interview, she also revealed that Jolene’s name and appearance are based on that of a young fan who came on stage for her autograph.

In Alexandra’s version, her dad casually plays guitar in the background as she sings and lets her voice clearly express the emotions of the lyrics.
