State Trooper Approaches Semi Only To Realize The Blinking Hazards Are A Silent Cry For Help

A semi-truck driver is alive today thanks to the teamwork of three separate first responders who came together to save him. Senior Trooper John Hitchcock noticed a semi-truck on the side of the interstate in Underwood, Iowa with its hazards on. He went to take a look and discovered the driver unconscious and not breathing. He knew he had to administer CPR and quickly pulled the man out of the car to try and revive him.

That’s when help arrived. Hitchcock’s dashcam records Deputy Kurt Ferguson with the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Department running to help Hitchcock. The two men pulled the driver out of the vehicle and harm’s way when they were joined by yet another helper, Fire Department Captain Curtis McKeon, who was off-duty at the time and was driving by.

The men all from separate agencies worked together and revived the dying man until paramedics arrived. Their teamwork saved the semi-driver’s life; he is now recovering.

Heroes, every one of them!

This story reminds me of the time a state trooper pulled over an erratic driver only to discover the driver was having a heart attack.
