Lonely Shelter Dog Who Was Lost Without His Bucket Finally Finds A Family

A lonely shelter dog named Slim, who has been waiting to be adopted for nearly a year, has a favorite toy – a bucket! Rescue Me Ohio writes that Slim “loves his bucket and is lost without it!!”

Slim was rescued from an abandoned house in December 2014. The Pit Bull mix was emaciated and scared and taken to Ashland County Dog Shelter in Ohio, where he’s been ever since.

Rescue Me Ohio writes:

“He is approximately 4 to 5 years old, a Pit Bull mix. He has a lot of energy and charm. He had some food guarding issues that the shelter staff and volunteers have worked with and he has come a long way. He loves attention and loves to play. He is a very strong boy too who does not have the best of leash manners. He is anxious in the shelter and has destroyed most of the toys he’s been given. But his favorite toy is his Bucket!!! He loves his bucket and is lost without it!! He sits like a perfect gentleman for a treat and takes them so nicely. He will need a home that will continue to work on these manners he has learned. Slim really needs a rescue to take him in and give him time to decompress after all this shelter time.”

After waiting with his bucket for a little bit longer, Slim was taken in to foster care by Forget Me Not Animal Rescue at the end of October 2015. They took him in and began training him and working on finding him a permanent home.

Slim is loving life with his new foster family so much he hasn’t had time to play with his bucket. He likes his bed. He likes all the attention he’s getting.

And he likes all the positive training he’s getting.

Based on Forget Me Not Animal Rescue’s website, it appears that Slim has an adoption pending or has been adopted!

We can’t think of a more deserving dog than Slim!
