Street Dog With Head Wound Was So Shy He Would Not Let Rescuers Touch Him

Often, stray dogs are not sure of what to do when rescuers approach them. Should they take the food offered? Run away? That was certainly the case with Jay, a street dog in India, who had a terrible head wound that needed to be tended to if he was going to survive.

“We got a call on our helpline to rescue a street dog who was badly injured. When our rescue team arrived he was very shy and wouldn’t let us touch him,” Animal Aid Unlimited wrote. “He was hungry so he stayed near enough to eat the biscuits we offered him, but we soon realized we wouldn’t be able to catch him by hand.”

Jay’s tail was tucked between his legs in fear and every time they tried to get close he would look to the side and back off, so they resorted to using a net to catch him.

What’s amazing is that Jay was never aggressive and once he was back at their shelter, his tail wouldn’t stop wagging!
