Prisoners Put On Powerful Dance Performance To Michael Jackson’s “They Don’t Care About Us”

Prisoners from The Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) in the Philippines are known for putting on amazing dance performances, many of which are choreographed to music from Michael Jackson.

Several inmates at the CPDRC became famous when a video of them dancing to “Thriller” went viral some years ago. The video was posted as an educational message for other prisons to show that exercise and dance programs within the prison aided with discipline and curbed violence among the inmates.

This particular dance performance was filmed in 2010 and involved some very special guests. Jackson’s longtime choreographer Travis Payne and dancers Daniel Celebre and Dres Reid coordinated the event, which was performed to Michael Jackson’s “They Don’t Care About Us”.

“That was the most moving experience that I could have imagined,” Payne said in a later interview about dancing with the inmates. “I didn’t know that it would be so special. I knew that we were going there to celebrate Michael, and I had the idea because before he passed I would always show him …”

Check out this unique and memorable performance with your family and friends!
