Music was always a huge part of Henry Dryer’s life. His family remembers that he was always singing and dancing. Over the past 10 years, Dryer has lived at a nursing home where staff members observed he was unresponsive the majority of time. But wait until you see what happens when headphones were placed over his ears playing his favorite music. He immediately lights up and he “comes alive”.
When this video was filmed, Dryer was 92 years old and seeing the way music makes him so happy is incredibly moving! This is an excerpt from the documentary called “Alive Inside” that explores how music is helping people with dementia.
