Mom Gives Her College Bound Son A Cardboard Cutout Of Family Dog

It’s with mixed emotions that parents bid their kids goodbye as they head off to college. It’s also hard for the young teens who are leaving their loved ones behind, including their 4-legged family members. But one Texas mom came up with an idea to make her son not miss his dog as much while he is away.

19-year-old Jake Ostrowski will be a freshman at Texas Tech University this year, and as such, has to leave his beloved dog, Jesse, at home.

His mom, Sharla, guessed Jake might miss his pup, so she decided to make him a life-sized cardboard cutout of Jesse.

Jake shared a picture of his mom’s funny gift on Twitter, and it quickly caught the attention of social media.

So it was only fitting that they shared a picture of Jesse’s likeness hanging in Jake’s dorm room. Mom must be proud with how “Jesse” is pinned so prominently on the wall.

Jesse is also loving his newfound fame! 🙂

Of course the cutout no substitute for the real thing, but I’m sure mom’s gift will remind Jake that his loved ones are cheering him on and will miss him as much as he will miss them.
