K9 Helps Rescue Three Abandoned Puppies

While investigating a known stolen car dumping ground in southwest Atlanta, Trooper Ennis and his K9, Tek, found something else dumped – actually three “somethings” who needed urgent help.

“TFC1 Ennis was in southwest Atlanta yesterday in a known stolen car dumping ground. He was driving in an abandoned subdivision when he saw three puppies that had been dumped in a briar patch,” Georgia Department of Public Safety wrote on Facebook.

Knowing the puppies were abandoned, TFC1 Ennis picked up the puppies and brought them to his patrol car, where Tek kept a watchful eye on the trio, and made sure they felt safe.

“He [Ennis] knew no one was coming for them, so he and his K-9, Tek, brought the puppies to Headquarters where they were all promptly adopted,” the department wrote. “A Trooper never knows what he may encounter on a shift, but a day with puppies is a good day.”

It’s fantastic that all the puppies were adopted so quickly by Ennis and Tek’s colleagues. It seems that Ennis and Tek saved the puppies’ lives twice in one day!
