“I was shooting a ‘Social Experiment’ until this happened,” YouTuber Johal writes in the following video’s description. “I did not expect this at all and it was unbelievable.”
The video “prankster” approached a young homeless man and asked him if he’s seen his daughter, who he says has been missing for a couple of days. There was in fact no missing girl, but the homeless man did not know that and held up the little girl’s flyer instead of his own sign asking for food for the entire day. Hidden cameras continued to film him throughout the day, and when Johal and his team found out how he had reacted and helped a stranger they were stunned.
The video quickly went viral, and more than two million people have weighed in on the outcome. While many view the homeless man’s actions as commendable and heartwarming, others have commented that Johal’s actions in the situation were manipulative and deceptive.
One commentator wrote, “So the man went hungry and wasted his entire day for a trick? a social experiment. Disgusting how people use others.” While on the flip side another wrote, “This man is amazing he has nothing and yet gives everything”. What do you think about what happened?
