Homecoming King Nominees Do Something Remarkable For Fellow Student

It’s exciting for a high school senior to be nominated for Homecoming King. But when Jesse Cooper and two of his classmates, Drew and Zeke, were nominated at Unionville Community High School back in 2013, the three made a pact to give up the crown. Why? They wanted to make sure Scotty Maloney got it.

Scotty was a junior at the time and has Williams Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that inhibits speech and learning, but also results in a very happy demeanor. It’s a quality that all the students at the school appreciate. Scotty makes a “gloomy day bright” explains one of the students.

“I’ve been blessed with so many things,” said Jesse who ended up winning the popular vote for king. “I just wanted Scotty to experience something great in his high school days.”

Watch the video below to find out the school’s reaction and Scotty’s when they discovered the boys’ pact.
