Heroic Teen Saves Woman Shot Twice And Run Over By Her Boyfriend

An 18-year-old never thought his courage would be put to the test when he got off his shift at McDonald’s an hour earlier than usual and stumbled across an attempted murder on his way home.

Caleb Martin was driving home on New Years Day when he saw a driver swerving straight towards a woman standing in the middle of the Tennessee street. At first Caleb thought the driver was drunk but he quickly realized the driver was actually intentionally trying to hit her. Caleb tried to get the driver’s attention, but the woman was hit and flung into the guardrail. As soon as Caleb honked and stopped to help the woman, the driver sped away.

Caleb helped get the woman into his car while dialing 911. He was shocked again, when he learned that 29-year-old named Jenna Neuman had been shot twice by her boyfriend. When she had escaped the car, the boyfriend became intent on running her over.

Caleb was on the phone with 911 while he drove Jenna to his grandmother’s house and tried to stop her bleeding.

In the 911 call included in the video below, you’ll hear how Caleb remained very calm while comforting Jenna and saving her life! “You will not die,” he tells her repeatedly. “I got you.”

Thanks to Caleb’s efforts ETMs arrived in time to get Jenna to the hospital where she recovered. Officers later found her boyfriend dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Caleb was most certainly Jenna’s angel that night. The unassuming teen says he always wondered what he would do if he was ever in a position to help, and now he, and the rest of the world, knows he would be a hero.

Below is the recording of Caleb’s 911 call.
