David Goodlings regularly works as a radio and TV presenter in London, UK and thought he would employ some of his work skills into creating a very special surprise for his grandmother’s 85th birthday. “I thought I would do something a little bit different for my nan this year,” he wrote on YouTube. “Once she was in the car and thinking she was listening to the radio she suddenly got the biggest shock of her life.”
They are driving together when the music on the car radio cuts off and a news broadcaster comes on the air with what sounds like very serious news. But instead, Grandma Iris is left speechless when the man announces it’s her birthday and it’s time to hear some birthday messages.
Unbeknownst to Iris, her grandson had secretly recorded birthday messages from friends and family all over the world. No wonder she begins to cry. Noticing her tears, David tells her: “Nan, don’t get emotional! I didn’t want to upset you. We just wanted to show you how much you mean to us.” Needless to say, this sweet video is going viral…
