The Herring family was unpacking their car after a canoe trip when a fawn stumbled across their front yard and approached their daughter, Maya. The baby deer followed Maya’s every step from the moment they met. “Maya knew it needed its mother, who we believe was off eating and recuperating from the birthing, so she led it back to the woods,” explained Brad Herring.
Soon after, they saw a doe and fawn in the next-door neighbor’s yard – so mother and baby were reunited!
