Man Freaks Out When Neighbor Shows Him Spider Eating A Mouse In His House

If you want to have sound sleep tonight, you may want to look away now…no? Don’t say I didn’t warn you. An Australian man has shared a video that is part creep-fest, part nature lesson. But since posting it, it’s been viewed over 15 million times.

As you’ll see, the house spiders in Coppabella, Australia are a little different than the ones you find in North America. For one thing they’re really, really big. For another, they hunt rodents.

Jason Womal got this nature lesson up close and personal when his neighbor invited him over to see “something cool”. Jason explains, “I was on my way to work, heading down towards my car, when my neighbor scared the buggery out of me by asking if I wanted to see a Huntsman spider eating a mouse in his house.”

Huntsman spiders are not considered dangerous to humans, in fact, they are widely considered beneficial because they hunt pests like cockroaches and rodents, as in this case.

As for this particular spider. He’s doing okay. No humans harmed him.

Jason writes, “Ok guys so just letting you all know that the spider is fine. We have named him Hermie, we have adopted him and he is now running his own extermination business out of our town Coppabella. Oh, and he is now paying rent. LOL”

Yep, as creepy as it is to watch, Hermie is just doing his job!
