Girls Who Became Best Friends On FaceTime Surprised To Meet In Person For The Very First Time

We’re increasingly making connections through the Internet these days, including long-distance friendships that can go on for years without meeting someone in person.

So imagine the impact meeting a friend for the first time in real life after you’ve only interacted with them on Facetime for four years. That’s what happened to these two young girls. Their parents decided to surprise them both and videotaped the heartwarming moment for everyone to see.

Redditor core330 shared, “A best friend of mine and I have daughters the same age. We introduced them via FaceTime 4 years ago. They’ve talked daily since and are best friends. They live 7+ hours away and our schedules never lined up to have them meet in person until this moment. Neither of them knew it was happening.”

The moment the two girls see each other they clasp their hands over their mouths in disbelief. They are so surprised they don’t move closer to one another for a full minute.

When they do finally tentatively approach each other the one girl asks, “Are you real?” And the other responds, “I’m real” before they dissolve into an emotional hug.

One redditor commented, “I love how the first minute of this video is a stand-off over who is going to cry first.”

Another, wrote, “Absolutely adorable. I was chuckling along and say “awww, that’s sweet”. Then I saw the tears. DAMN YOU.”

Watch the incredibly sweet moment for yourself in the clip below and try not to tear up yourself.
