Augustus was picked up as a stray and suffering from such severe mange that his rescuers did not know what breed he was. His infections made his skin like he was covered in scales and burned from head to foot.
Debbie Rappuhn at Heart of Alabama Save Rescue Adopt (HASRA) rescued hum and she and her team began treating Augustus to a daily regimen that included special medicated baths and proper nutrition. His fur and scabbed skin peeled off like “potato chips”!
Augustus kept his sweet temperament though the entire healing process even though he must have been in a lot of pain and discomfort. As he healed his breed was revealed – he’s a Border Collie mix.
Not only did Augustus go through an amazing transformation, he has since been adopted into a loving home!
