When Devon the Labrador Retriever was found on a Texas road by Fort Bend County Animal Control, she was in terrible shape. She had been dragged behind a car and shot.
She was on the brink of death, but thanks to several rescue organizations, she was given a chance to survive. Saving Our Companion Animals, Save-A-Lab Rescue, Long Meadow Vet Clinic, Pilots & Paws and her foster family all worked together to save her.
“She’s a remarkable dog. She had a tremendous spirit, even when she came in,” Fort Bend’s Barbara Vass told Houston’s Fox 29 news. “The first pictures I took of her in her kennel, when she wasn’t in her best shape, she was still wagging her tail.”
Everyone’s efforts paid off, and now several months later, Devon has a new family in Georgia.
