Man On Disability Discovers He Owns A Rare Treasure That Changes His Life Forever

This is an incredibly heartwarming “rags to riches” story. A man with disabilities was struggling to get by, but one day he watched The Antiques Roadshow and his life changed forever.

LT had gotten his foot crushed in a car accident and had been trying to get by on his monthly disability cheque of $832. He was living day-to-day and going into debt, when he watched the Antiques Roadshow and saw a man bring in a Navajo blanket that looked a lot like one that he owned. The blanket had been handed down in LT’s family and he always thought it was cool, but he never thought it was worth any money.

After seeing what the blanket on the show was worth, LT began to do some research and decided to approach John Moran Auctioneers for an appraisal. When he brought in the blanket and dumped it out of the bag, the hairs on the auctioneers’ necks stood up.

At first, they conservatively valued the blanket somewhere between $100,000 to $200,000 dollars. But the museum-quality treasure would not only go on to change LT’s life dramatically, it would make auction history, selling for a whopping $1.8 million dollars!
