Chattanooga Firefighters’ Flash Mob To ‘Stayin’ Alive’ Entertains And Educates

When firefighters in Chattanooga wanted to increase awareness about the value of learning CPR they came up with an entertaining and unique way to convey their message…through a flash mob!

The video opens with a woman trying to wake up a man having cardiac arrest. Luckily for her the firefighters are nearby. As a group of them start applying CPR, another group begin dancing to the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive”. It’s a lot of fun and educational too. That’s because the song the firefighters picked isn’t by accident – it can help you perform CPR.

“It may seem odd, but if you administer chest compressions to the beat of the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” or Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust” you will achieve that rate of 100 compressions per minute,” the firefighters write. Who would have known that? Thank you Chattanooga Fire Department.

Share this entertaining video (and its important reminder to take the time to learn CPR) with your friends!
