Mom Horrified After Young Son Discovers Hidden Camera in Starbucks Bathroom

“Mommy, why is there a phone under there?” That’s what a 5-year-old boy asked his mother after he noticed the device hidden under the sink inside the ladies bathroom at a Starbucks in Lancaster, California. The mother, who wished to remain anonymous, said she was visiting the coffee shop’s restroom when her son made the shocking discovery.

“My son used the restroom first and I used the restroom after him,” she told TV station KTLA 5. “I noticed he was staring at the sink a little bit perplexed. I asked him what was wrong.”

The boy pointed under the sink, and there, propped up by paper towels, was a mobile phone with the camera pointing towards the toilet. She didn’t touch the phone and told Starbucks employees, who acted promptly and called authorities.

Deputies said that the cellphone was recording video, but it was unclear at this time where the video was being sent or how long it may have been recording.

“It’s such a violation of privacy. Not only of mine, but my son,” she told the news station.

A spokesperson for Starbucks has indicated that the company will do everything in their power to catch the perpetrator, stating: “We are disturbed by this incident and take our obligation to provide a safe environment for our customers and partners (employees) very seriously.”

The mom said she would not have seen the phone if it hadn’t been for her son. What a disturbing incident! I hope police track down the person(s) responsible!

This is not the first incident where hidden cameras have been found in public toilets. Please share this with your family and friends and make sure you check your surroundings carefully when you’re using public facilities.
