Erling Kindem just celebrated his 90th birthday with his family, friends and one special guest, his four-year-old friend Emmett Rychner. The pair used to be next door neighbors and their friendship blossomed after Emmett saw the WWII veteran growing some tomatoes and asked him about it. Their story captured the hearts of so many people that saw a news video last year, that the newscaster has kept up with the friends.
It looks like the two pals have stayed in touch even after Emmett’s family moved away. So when it came time to celebrate Erling’s birthday, of course Emmett had to come by and celebrate with him!
