Two Of The World’s Deadliest Snakes Caught Fighting On Golf Course

A woman had a bit of trouble finishing up her golf game at Leopard Creek, just outside Kruger National Park in South Africa, recently because the 14 hole was occupied by two fightings snakes – two of the world’s deadliest snakes in fact.

The two male black mamba snakes were entwined in what is known as “plaiting combat” – it’s the snakes’ way of battling over a female. The two snakes entwined and wrestled each other for quite some time, enthralling the witnesses.

Cara told LatestSightings.com: “I drove up a small rise and saw movement out of the corner of my eye. At first glance, I thought it was a spitting cobra that had its hood up, but after a closer inspection, I then saw it was actually two mambas. I quickly flagged the other 2 players in my four ball to slow down.”

Cara and the other golfers realized that they were witnessing something incredibly rare so they paused the game and sat and watched the amazing sighting. “We called the 4 ball behind us to also come and watch. I called my husband who was at the house to bring our son and to come and see too,” said Cara.

“It was amazing to watch and seemed to go on for ages,” said Cara of the snake fight. The group wisely decided to give the snakes a wide berth and go on to the next hole. Soon after they returned to their game of golf, the snakes started to tire, and they separated and slowly made their way back to the bush.

Cara finished off by saying: “We found concentrating on golf quite difficult over the next few holes. I feel this was a once in a lifetime sighting. I just wish I would have I had a better camera with me.”

It’s an incredible sight to be sure and one the golfers are sure to remember.
